At the heart of King's Cross is King's Cross railway station, the London terminus for the east coast main line. The station was opened in 1852 and its roof, the largest at the time, was supposedly modelled on the riding school of the Czars of Moscow. It is also rumoured that Queen Boudicca is buried beneath platform 8. Over 40 million people pass through the station each year. The British Library, the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the world's greatest, can be found nearby. Its treasures include the Magna Carta, Lindisfarne Gospels and Leonardo da Vinci's Notebook, and it holds material from 300 BC to the present day.

King's Cross rail and underground station offers superb travel connections whatever your destination with major bus, rail and underground links just a very short walk away. From the underground station you can join the Circle, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan and Northern lines to the rest of London. Taxi services are available from your doorstep, and if you're travelling further afield, King's Cross Station has links to the rest of the UK. Euston mainline station is just one stop away, and also serves a multitude of national destinations.
